What year did they start putting wireless remote controls (IR) on stereos?
I have a Kenwood stereo integrated amplifier with a graphic equalizer/ am fm tuner A-83 and I want to know what year it is.
it has a cd and cassette player.
would it be correct to say that it was built in the early 90s?
It might have remote control. My Yamaha receiver from around 1990 or so has remote control capability.
Look at the chips inside. Most have a date code in YYWW, where Y is the year (last 2 digits),and WW is the week. You can assume the receiver is probably manufactured around 4-6 months after the average chip date. Custom chips such as the syscon will be closer perhaps.
