What is the difference between clean amps and bad amps?
I just bought some new subs.
I’m looking to crank my SPL
right now im shooting 125.6
I don’t have the best amp ” for say ” pushing the new rockford p3′s
I need clean power something decent
Which amps would you say are better for around
$300
JL
Orion XTR/HCCA ” cant afford HCCA ”
Kicker
Rockford
Kenwood
I really like JL
My top pick for an amp that will push two P3s to their full potential would be the JL 1000/1 monoblock. Top notch quality, years of R&D, and patent pending tecnologies make this one of the best amps out there. It has RIPS technology, or a regulated power supply, so it puts 1000 rms regardless of what impedance the subs are. My second pick would be an Alpine PDX-1.1000, or a PDX-M12. Both are much smaller than the JL, and put out the same power, but they dont have the parametic EQ that the JL slash amps have.
Rockford still makes some good amps, although they aren’t as good as they used to be. The majority of P3 setups I installed had a RF P1000-1bd hooked up, and it was more than enough power, and stable to 1ohm.
Orion has gone way down hill as well, even though they used to make some of the best amps out there. I personally aren’t a fan of either Kenwood or Kicker, also both are generally respected, and still much better than junk brands most people run nowadays…
